KOFUKU Juhu (Best Japanese)

Welcome to the first part of this 5 part series on one of the best places to get a certain cuisines food in Mumbai. today we are going to talk about where in Mumbai can you go when you get a craving for some really good sushi or any Japanese dish in general.

If you are looking for a truly authentic Japanese experience, then you're at the right place. Kofuku not only offers you delicious Japanese cuisine but they also provide you with the opportunity to dine like the Japanese by providing tatami seating. The overall ambience of the place is very inviting and relaxing.

Coming to the food, the menu is very nicely planned, providing both heavy and light options. In my case, I went with one friend and we ordered two starters, one sushi and one dessert, which was filling enough for the both of us.

The first starter we ordered was the edamame dip with pita chips, which is one of the best hummus' I've ever tried, so much better then regular hummus as I'm not a huge fan of chickpeas. The hummus was topped with fresh pomegranate seeds which added the perfect contrast to the dish.

The next starter which looked very appealing to us was the yaki tori chicken, they were perfectly flavoured sweet and tangy chicken on skewers.

The sushi we ordered was the very basic non veg California roll, but it was definitely a delight to eat. The portion served was a very good amount to feed two mildly hungry people.

And finally the most exciting part about any meal, the dessert. After careful consideration we decided we wanted the ice cream mochi. We were served with two large ice cream mochis. One being vanilla and one mango, they were served along with a sweet red bean paste. I loved both the mochis but my favourite one has to be the mango. The only thing that could have been better is I wish the mochi on the ice cream was slightly thicker as you couldn't really taste it due to the thinness.

Coming to the service, the servers were very quick with taking the orders and getting the food to our table. I personally didn't face any issues where it comes to service. And looking into the final element bring the price, the price for the food here is definitely not cheap, but if you are looking to indulge into some very yummy Japanese dishes then it's well worth it.
