SodaBottleOpenerWala (Best Parsi/Irani)

What does a person do when they are in the mood for some really yummy Parsi/Irani food? You head down to SodaBottleOpenerWala in BKC, this cozy restaurant is so well decorated which gives you the perfect vibe of the Parsi community. A cute jukebox in the corner, and bakery area with special desserts and house made kharis and cookies.

It feels really comfortable sitting in the restaurant and unlike many restaurants in BKC you don't feel rushed to finish your meal and leave.

We went there on a weekend evening and were easily able to find a nice table without any waiting tine although there were many people there. The service was really quick and the waiters were always around to take your order.

So now coming to the main part which is the food, the first things we ordered were the Pallonji raspberry soda and the Steamed chicken kebab.

The soda truthfully wasn't my or my buddy's favourite at all, it according to our tastebuds tasted like cough medicine so we decided to skip on that.

The kebab was really juicy but lacked flavour, it was slightly bland but overall good if you don't need too much spice in your food.

The next things we ordered were the regular chocolate shake, the vegetable berry pulao and the chicken berry pulao, and I must say that these items really made up for the lack of flavour we tasted before this.

The chocolate milkshake was truthfully perfect, just like how I like it, not too sweet, not too chocolatey, not too bitter, just the perfect amount of everything and a good portion as well.

The berry pulaos were to die for, the vegetable pulao consisted of veggies such as peas, carrots, capsicum. The chicken pulao had such a good serving of chicken that it is more then enough for two people to share it without one ending up with just rice. The flavour of the pulao was sweet with a slight spice to it that you cannot detect instantly.

And finally the last dish we ordered was the Lagan nu custard off the bakery shelf. It was a good size to consume for two people if you are already really full with your berry pulao, and had a very strong cardamom flavour.

Overall this was a good outing for some Parsi food and I would definitely go back there to have some more pulao, try some more of their Parsi dishes and try more of their house special desserts.
